Boots on the Ground

What a crazy 25 hours it has been! We are now a full day ahead of most of you (don’t worry, we won’t spoil what happens in the future - but it was fun time travelling). Our flights went smoothly after an initial delay in the Prince George Airport, thank you for all who were praying for safe travels, the Lord was looking after us for sure, we even got all our seats together on our longest flights with Nolan somehow being seated right in the very middle:

We are just about to land at our last airport in the next hour at Chiang Mai as I am writing this. The journey has been a great time of bonding with tandem napping times, in-flight monopoly (not sure if David has a future career in property management, haha), new food, and tracking down the best and most caffeinated coffee in the Taipei airport.

Some of the highlights include sitting all together on our long haul flight and watching Zootopia 2 at the same time. We also got to stand on a piece of Canada in the Vancouver airport and feel the breeze of the cool Vancouver air - before going inside due to the cool Vancouver rain. Best photo from the trip so far is below, it captures the exact moment David started eating a can of Mixed Bean Congee from the airport vending machine and Tyler expressed his refusal of David’s offer to try some, haha.

We are so excited to be “boots on the ground” as we land soon and get settled in our accommodations and with the church. Some things to be praying for are updated on the prayer tab - but here are some quick ones from today:

  • Pray for individual team members as we prepare to share testimony and scripture each night with church members. We took some time on our long plane rides to pull some of our notes from the scripture studies we have been doing and connecting them with testimonies of how we have seen God at work. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to be leading us as we listen for what we should share with the church in Lampang to encourage them through God’s Word.
  • As we land and get settled, please pray for health, we have be blessed so far in our journey there, though adjusting to the heat and cuisine will come with new challenges.
  • Throughout this trip there will be unexpected things coming up, some we have tried to be prepared for and some that will just happen in the moment. Please pray that we would have flexibility and be in tune with how the Holy Spirit is leading.

Also, if you would like to send a message of encouragement to the team or an individual member - you can fill one out here: https://westwoodthailandteam2026.blogspot.com/p/prayer-support.html

Thanks so much for following along with our journey and praying for us, if you haven’t yet, sign up with your email address below and I will send out a notification when we post so you can see new photos, stories, and prayer requests. Share and tag us on social media, so cool to see how the church is supporting this team!

P.S. Here is the arrival airport photo with all like 20ish of our bags (2 checked bag plus carry was a significant number per person, but the Lord got all bags safely there with all our things and our kid camp supplies!):
